The story began with an article by Dave Cowan, to which contributor, Alan Baptist, added his memories.
We were then contacted by Ann Adams (nee Morrison) who said –
“We were at a huge Party held for the children of the estate at Cemetery Corner. It was in a marquee erected in Howards Dairy’s top field between Jotmans Lane to the north and the bungalows of Perry Road and Watlington Road on the east side.
“This photograph is of my brother Paul Morrison and myself, Ann Morrison, in our fancy dress outfits worn for the 1953 Coronation fancy dress competition.”
Ann was also kind enough to loan the official photographs (below) taken in the marquee and so we now have a much fuller picture of the occasion – but we always welcome more!
