Mr Joyce receives a Russian Ushakov medal

For being part of the WW2 Arctic Convoys

Mr Joyce served in the Royal Navy during WW2 on HMS London. Part of his service was on the Arctic Convoys including PQ17. Afterwards HMS London went to Alexandria and served in the Indian Ocean.

In August 2014 Mr Joyce was sent a letter from the Russian Embassy in London telling him that he had been awarded a Ushakov medal. It would be presented to him at a ceremony on the 28th August 2014 at the Russian Embassy.

He went along to receive it and this video describes in his words what happened during that day.
