Grosvenor Road

From Clear Pavements to Dropped Kerbs & Yellow Lines

Vehicles Bring Parking Restrictions

These photos were taken at the junction of Grosvenor Road and St Mary’s Road, looking down towards Essex Way.

In the 2012 photo, in the far distance towards Vicarage Hill can be seen many new properties, built to house the ever increasing population of Benfleet.

Benfleet station, with daily trains to London taking around 40 minutes, provides an essential means of transport for many local commuters. Those who drive to the station have been discouraged from parking in the local roads with the introduction of parking restrictions.

In this day and age, many homes have at least two vehicles and whereas in the old photo not only are there no cars, there are no driveways.  In the latest photo, many properties have dropped kerbs, enabling home owners to park on their own driveways.
