This photograph shows pupils of the National School and is believed to have been taken around 1930.  Third from left is Gilbert Wines and the lad fourth from left (with hand to head) is Jimmy Shepherd. Jimmy’s father was referred to as the local ‘snob’, or shoemaker.  Gilbert recalls having teachers named Miss Warford and Miss Thomas.
