The poor are without sufficient means of education.

Benfleet (South) – Population 533
Three Daily Schools: two of which commenced 1821 containing 54 of both sexes, are partly supported by subscription in aid of payment by the parents of the children: in the other 21 children are instructed wholly at the expense of their parents. One Sunday school of 60 children commenced 1821 supported by subscription.
