  • i remember Daphne and the chemists, we are in touch with Ken Chenery in this picture and am trying to get a picture of my class. I was at the school from 1938-1941. Daphne Sorrell nee Smith.

  • If Lavinia Hands married name was Flack (she married Doug Flack), then my mother knew her as ‘Livers’.  I have a photo, if so, of her and Doug, my Dad (Don Jones) in about 1948?

  • Thanks so much Daphne, I don’t have many photos of mum as a child so it’s lovely to know this is her!

  • Yes, that is Peggy Eason. I think we were 8 or 9 at the time. Other children in the photo whose names I remember are: Top row: Lavinia Hands, Margaret Atkinson, Esther Sullivan, Trixie Joslin, Rita Haynes. Row 2: Billy Parsons, Ken Chinnery, David Lewis, Buster Pearson, Bobby Toms. Row 3: Pam Bishop, Joan Harle, Dorothy Thomas. Front row: John Rinker, Peter Conradi, David Howell, John Seqin, John Haynes. I seem to remember Peggy was taller than anyone else.

  • What age would these children be? My mother was born in 1928 and it looks like it could be her (2nd row from back, extreme left) with PE (Peggy Eason) on the jumper.

Editor: Denise, I will try to contact Daphne and see if she has any more information.
