King John School girls at a music festival in 1972

Music festival in1972
Echo news April 14 2022

In 1972 a music festival was held at the Appleton School which attracted pupils from neighbouring schools, including King John School.  The only problem was that once the orchestra and the performers had packed inside the hall there was no space left for the parents, so the youngsters had to perform to an empty room!

Please let us know if you recognise any of the girls in the photo.

  • This was our folk group. I am playing the guitar (Suzanne Golding) to the left of me Susan Riches and Gill Whybrew’ to the right Avice Simpson and back row Sharon Camp and Lyndsey Hyslop. We had such fun singing songs from Bob Dylan and the Seekers. Happy memories.🎶🎶
