This photograph shows pupils of the National School and is believed to have been taken around 1930. ¬†Third from left is Gilbert Wines and the lad fourth from left (with hand to head) is Jimmy Shepherd. Jimmy’s father was referred to as the local ‘snob’, or shoemaker. ¬†Gilbert recalls having teachers named Miss Warford and Miss Thomas.
