The 37 Names on the War Memorial

There are 37 names on the South Benfleet War Memorial. Until recently there was nothing known about some of the names. However we now know something about all of them.
Did you Know:

There were Army, navy, flyers and merchant marine people listed on it.
Not everybody on the memorial lived in Benfleet or even visited it. There were people from Canada, Australia and India. (7, 12, 29)
Two were the sons of vicars. (15, 37)
Two sets of brothers died. (3 & 33, 19 & 28)
Two of them died of pneumonia. (17, 35)
Four ships were sunk. (2, 9, 33, 34)
A plane was shot down by the Red Baron. (15)
The median age of their deaths was 24 years (half less than and half more than).
There were:

2 deaths in 1914.
6 deaths in 1915.
7 deaths in 1916.
12 deaths in 1917.
10 deaths in 1918.
