Ralf (Bertie) Robinson and Ralf Robinson (Junior) are commemorated on another page of this website.  Both are related to Lynn Tait, who created a project in tribute to them.

The project was a competition to design a poster or greeting card to commemorate the centenary of World War I.  All money raised goes to support the charity, Help for Heroes.

When launching the competition Lynn wrote the following:

A message from Lynn:

I have a very personal reason behind my inspiration for this project. My mother lost her father in the WW1 and her brother in the WW2. These losses have left a massive imprint on my life even though I never met the two Ralfs.

My grandfather Ralf (Bertie) Robinson who was in The Rifle Brigade was killed at Ypres in 1917 aged 32, at the time his wife my darling Granny was expecting a son.

My Mother was 16 months old when her Father died. The baby boy that my Granny was carrying Ralf Junior was later killed in the second war aged 24. He was in the Royal Ulster Rifles and was killed in action in 1942.

I want this project to be a fitting tribute to my Grandfather, Uncle, Granny, Mother and Father.

I do hope you will support this important project.

A message from Help For Heroes.

“We believe that any  serviceman or woman who suffers life changing injuries in the line of duty deserves the very best support for life.”

Please support this important competition and raise much needed funds for Help for Heroes.
