The Heritage Lottery Fund provided the funding to set-up this digital Archive in 2011. Their funding stopped as soon as the Archive was up and running. Since then, we have supported ourselves by fundraising and with the help of commercial sponsors. We have one commercial sponsor, Countryside Estates , whose financial contributions offset some of the running costs of the site enabling us to concentrate on recording more Benfleet history.
We keep our expenses as low as possible but we do need funds to pay for web-hosting, insurance, volunteer expenses, and other incidentals incurred in producing and running the website.
One way you can help us, at no cost whatsoever to you, is by signing up to ‘easyfundraising‘:
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Benfleet Community Archive with easyfundraising?
There are over 7,000 brands on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, M&S and Warner Leisure Hotels – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
