The Heritage Lottery Fund provided the funding to set-up this digital Archive in 2011. Their funding stopped as soon as the Archive was up and running. Since then, we have supported ourselves by fundraising and with the help of commercial sponsors. We have one commercial sponsor, Countryside Estates , whose financial contributions offset some of the running costs of the site enabling us to concentrate on recording more Benfleet history.
We keep our expenses as low as possible but we do need funds to pay for web-hosting, insurance, volunteer expenses, and other incidentals incurred in producing and running the website.
